IRD Letter Human Review Summary

IRD letter human review content page

Not sure what type of IRD letter you received? You can let BM review it first

You do not need to identify the letter type first. Submit a clear copy of the IRD letter and payment proof, and BM will conduct an initial human review to summarise what the letter is actually asking for, key risk areas, missing information and possible next steps.

Situations This Page Is For

This page is designed for you if:

  1. 1You cannot identify the key point of the letter
  2. 2You do not know whether a reply is required
  3. 3You are not sure whether it is only a notice
  4. 4You do not know whether it involves payment, penalty or overdue matters
  5. 5You are not sure whether it is an individual, property or company responsibility
  6. 6You want to know whether you can handle it yourself or should engage BM for follow-up

You Do Not Need to Classify It First

For many people, the first difficulty after receiving an IRD letter is not handling it, but classifying it.

Is it a tax return, notice of assessment, request for information, tax demand note, penalty reminder or another type of query?

If you are not sure, you can select "Not sure, please help identify". BM will conduct an initial human review based on the letter you submit.

Common Risks

When you are not sure what type of letter it is, common risks include:

  1. 1Treating a letter that requires action as a general notice
  2. 2Looking only at the apparent deadline while missing the information needed for handling
  3. 3Making payment only while missing required replies or submissions
  4. 4Asking AI but still not knowing whether the answer applies to your own case
  5. 5Waiting until late and then discovering that accounts, information or documents need to be organised

What You Need to Submit

You only need to submit:

  1. 1HK$380 payment proof / bank-in slip
  2. 2Clear image or PDF of the IRD letter
  3. 3Name / preferred name
  4. 4Contact number
  5. 5If BM finds that the image is unclear, incomplete or insufficient for review, BM will ask you to provide additional information. The service starts only after BM confirms payment is received and the IRD letter is complete.

When the HK$380 Service Is Suitable

If you do not want to spend time identifying the letter type, and do not want to reply or ignore the letter before understanding it, you may first use the HK$380 IRD letter human review summary service.

Service boundary

HK$380 includes: human review of one IRD letter, with a summary of the actual requirements, key risk areas, information gaps, time sensitivity and suggested next steps.

It does not include: formal replies to the IRD, document submission, audit arrangement, formal tax representative services, legal advice or any guarantee of outcome.

Not sure what type of letter it is? Let BM review it first

HK$380 is for the initial human review and direction summary of one IRD letter. It is not a complete tax handling service.

FAQ

I really do not know what this letter is. Can I submit it?

Yes. You may select "Not sure, please help identify". BM will conduct an initial human review based on the letter you submit.

What if BM finds that the case is outside the HK$380 service scope?

The HK$380 service will still provide a human review summary covering the actual requirements, key risk areas, information gaps and suggested handling route. If follow-up service is needed, BM will confirm the service scope and fee separately.

Can I send the letter first before paying?

This service starts only after payment is received and the IRD letter is complete. If you would like BM to provide a handling direction for the letter you received, please follow the page instructions to arrange payment and submit the letter.
